Bryan, I am 30 and got into this thing a few years ago. I can say without reservation that I've met some of the best people in the world through antique tractors, and some of those people will literally talk your leg off if they get half a chance - and that's OK with me! I see a lot of parents bringing little kids to shows, so perhaps things are looking up. With the current trend toward people buying a few acres outside town, building a house, and buying an old tractor to help take care of it, I think that our toys will be in favor for a long time to come. When I do get married and have kids, you can be sure I'm going to get them into it, too!

Product Review: Lead Substitutes - by Mike Schordine. Lead was oriinally added to gasoline as an upper cylinder lubricant. It lubes the valves and seats. If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution. And, if you are like me, your tractor is under cover, but it sits outside. So with every temperature change, the humidity in the air collects in the fuel tank, in the form of water.
