I've said it before, I think you're going to see shows start folding in the near future. for a number of reasons:

1. Insurance costs- This is going to be a biggie in the next few years, especially in the wake of 9-11-01 and Medina.

2. Lack of volunteers- With the current level of exhibitors this REALLY shouldn't be an issue, but it is. Almost every show I attend is chronically shorthanded. Already tight budgets are stretched further because the fire department or local scout troop end up picking up the slack (usually for a donation), and revenue is lost when they hire concessionaires.

3. Overcrowding- In many areas there are more clubs than the current level of tourist patronage can sustain.

4. Politics- when things start getting rough, infighting within the clubs will increase as various internal factions jostle for remaining funds. Members will quit in a huff or drift away.
