In the 30s thru the 50s, one of the great magazines, Pop Sci, Mechanics Ill. or Pop. Mech, ran a great series of articles I believe called Farm Mechanics, with illustrations of how farmers were adding hydraulics, electrics, to their machinery, pumps, and about everything imaginable on the farm. Saw a compilation of these in hardcover form selling at an antique mall, the guy knew what he had, he had it priced at over $50. John in Ne.
