I should have mentioned that the compression is 115 across the board. The engine is a rebuilt thing installed by the previous owner about 15 years ago, but the tractor had been sitting outside for a couple of years (the reason for so many new parts). I checked and adjusted the valves last weekend; they were pretty much on the money already. When I had the head off last winter, the valves and pistons all looked great.
