Epoxies should not be thinned; the thinner will not participate in the cure and you'll end up with a weak patch.

If you want to use epoxy as a filler, mix it yourself, using epoxy resin and additives. There are many systems available such as Gougeon Brothers "WEST System"; most were developed for marine applications. Different filler additives are available, depending on how strong or light you want your patch to be.
