If it is one of the composition type and not damaged, it is probably OK. The Case service manual for the L and LA indicates re use of these gaskets is acceptable. Since these gaskets do not compress, they can be placed and re torqued and still work fine. Obviously look for holes, corrosion, etc., but most critical area is the part of the gasket that actually is exposed to combustion between the head and top of sleeve. If the material there is burned or nicked, the gasket is a throw away.
