You are close - Massey had a line of garden tractors up until the late 70's, including the 1450, 1650, and 1655. They got out of the garden tractor business somewhere between '77 and '79. They sold the entire thing to Snapper, who continued the top of the line model (1655), except for switching to a 18 horse engine instead of the 16. If I remember right, the A designation was for models with the 3 point hitch. My father was a Massey garden tractor dealer starting in '77, then became a Snapper dealer when they made the switch. In '79 or '80, we sold an 1855A with the mower, 3-point tiller, PTO adapter (so they could run an auger with it), and front-mounted snowblower. The whole thing cost them over $10,000. It was worked hard on a farm, and several months ago, we bought the tractor itself back for $300 (It doesn't look like it is worth even that...) As far as parts, the other posters are right on about belts - Napa is best for that. Otherwise, Snapper dealers and Massey Ferguson dealers should be able to get most of the parts yet. Let me know if you need any specific information. I'm sure we still have owners and service manuals on these. Also, you can check my website for pictures of our 1655 garden tractor puller - you can see how one looks with about 125 horsepower. Branden Beachy Millersburg, IN
