Folks: He's talking about depth filtration of the motor oil. It filters down to a much smaller particle size than a regular filter can. It's a bypass filter used in conjunction with the regular filter so the oil will last a lot longer than normal. The idea has merit and is used in big diesels so the oil needs less changouts. Don't know why he couldn't just say what he was talking about right from the get-go.
