I don't know about the carlisle you mentioned but I have three trailers with straight electric brakes and all are useless.I borrowed a truck and trailer of a neighbors and it had vacum operated hydraulic brakes,it was great, you could lock all eight tires(dual tandem) with a 12,000 lb tractor on it at 75 mph ,I know ,bout crapped my pants. by the way I was pulling with a top kick with cat power. His was on a hillsbourough 26" gooseneck flatbed. If I am ever rich enough to buy a new trailer it'll have vac over hyd brakes for sure.
