Ray, you are right that the mind is the greatest safety device ever invented. The problem, though, is that too many people fail to engage their brain before engaging their tractor & equipment, necessitating other safety equipment like ROPS, etc. We have a saying here at work:

"Invent something that is idiot-proof, and someone else will invent a better idiot."

That saying has yet to be proven wrong ... just ask the trial lawyers.

But like you said, the mind is the greatest safety device, bar none.
