I saw an 8N yesterday that has a bump-out on the bottom left rear of the transmission. The dealer who has it says it is a 1953 model. He says the gears for a regular 8N will not fit this one. The serial number on the engine is 6 digits long and starts with 50 which would place it in mid year 1952. Also the nomenclature plate has the following on it:8N H 16 2. Unless I am mistaken, this says it was manufactured on Aug 16, 1952. Anyone know what the story is on this tractor with the different transmission? Thanks, Ed
