I have run the type of fan you are talking about on high for over 4 hours with a 400 watt inverter plugged into the lighter in my pick up. Truck still started. Most of the inverters sold today will shut down when the battery voltage drops down around 10V. That should leave you enough juice to start her up for a while to recharge.
