Don't know him but the general advice they have given to others who have had similar problems with other individuals is to get an address and call the RCMP (royal canadian mounted police).
also I would notifiy Kim at site feed back forum. she can't help you with $$$$ but could have him banned if there is cause. sorry to hear about your bad expierience. if check hasn't been cashed yet then put a stop payment on it at your bank.
