I use the 85-140 in my Howards, and have been useing it all the years i've owned them. You won't have any problems doing so.
I do change the fluid in mine, but i'll bet you most people don't! Same with the gear box on my rotary cutters, i change the fluid in those too.
Glad to see you bought a manual for your HR20! :)
