And, the TA doubles your speeds. Gives you a high-low gear in each of the regular gears, which you engage with a lever on the left side - on the go, no clutching with the high-low. You use the clutch & gearshift for regular shifting. The TA is just added to the back of the tranny out-put shaft.

This is the most common thing to wear out on an IHC as well, probably about $500 to repair. Works well, not scaring you away, just make sure it is working well or adjust the price accordingly. Frequently they work fine in normal (forward) position for years & years giving you a regular 5-speed, but will slip in slow (back) position & need to be rebuilt for the TA option to work.
