You might want to find a turkey or chicken farm and check into buying manure from them. About two tons to the acre works wonders. You'll need a lime type fertilizer spreader to put it on though- a regular spreader puts the stuff on too heavy. The manure around here is going for about ten dollars a ton if you pick up, and it really is high in nitrogen. Better put it on right before a rain though or the neighbors will really complain.You can put this on after each mowing and it really gives the hay a jump start. Hope that helps.
