any tractor from the 60's or 70's is NOT going to be troublefree. most of them older models will require a lot of repairs just to get them up to a decent level of reliability and then a lot of maintanence to keep them there. as far as cost it is whatever the buyer/seller settle on. i have seen some older models go for a considerable sum of money and some not so pricey. shop around and be sure to check out the mechanical condition very good so you will know what you are starting with. parts for older models can be scarce and pricey on certain models. also have an idea of what horsepower range you need because too big of a machine is as bad as too small. match it up to your needs and add a little extra for a "comfort zone". ask some local tractor mechanics or farmers and get their opinions. be safe!
