I don't know about 10W30 but I do know that my Avery A manual calls for regular motor oil in the transmission, differential, and final drives. The recommendation ranges from 30 weight to 60 weight depending on the temperature outside. I've often wondered why they called for regular engine oil rather than gearlube. Maybe the dual purpose hy-tran stuff would work for you, I know that cold temperatures make things pretty tough with regular 80W90 gearlube.
