Buying a diesel from the mid-fifties, with plans to work it some, would be a mistake. What record of correct service work exists, when the first two owners are likely deceased? Half of the detailed manual update notices were ignored, as a mass exodus away from troublesome Farmall diesels, put these models on dealer lots of other colors. Unless you want a 95 HP 806D, the earlier red in diesel would be foolish for a novice to take on. Your purchase should be based on acreage/necessity.
