The Olds F-85 with turbo charged V-8 from the early 60s, came factory with a bottle of water/alcohol, that helped with the power output, as it was noticeably different when the bottle was empty. The Germans also devised something else to get more boost out of their engines, they injected nitrous oxide to get more altitude, the racers of the 80s just discoverd this old secret. In the 60s Ford used an air cleaner body that could hold over a gallon of water, the incoming air would suck a bit of water in with the mixture, made for improved gas mileage, a noticeable difference especially on trips. Knew several guys that made use of it. Ford never endosed doing this, for sure. John in Nebr.
