Rice Special JD

Hi from Wales UK.
I recently bought a JD 820, Serial #8203351 which turns out to be a 'Rice Special' with the shields over the brakes and axles. The tractor has been imported from Canada. I don't have any history for the tractor, and was wondering which parts of the US and Canada grow rice. Is there a way of tracing a tractor's history from the serial no.
