52 HP should be a really good match for that Howard, and with that kind of HP you will be able to turn the rotor speed up, and use a faster ground speed.

If it doesn't come with one, you can get an owners manual from a Howard dealer. They include an exploded parts view ect., and the manuals are cheap!!

I was just hopeing you wasn't expecting to run it with one of the newer compacts, as they just don't produce the torque and have the iron in them to last in front of a tiller if you want to use it to it's fullest!

Maybe you can make an offer of a few? hundred less $$, and still get the HR20? Never hurts to ask! I just bought an HR30 80" for not much more than he wants for the HR20, but the blades are a little less than 50% on the 30.
