I spent a year in Sardinia back in the early 70s when I was in the Navy - Northern end of the island - La Maddelina. Could see Corsica from there across the straights. We'd get a 4 day weekend once a month and so we'd take the ferry over to the mainland. Of course when you're 20 years old about all you're interested in is booze and girls so I saw a lot more of the bars than I did the historical sites etc. I liked the northern part of the country better. I still hope to get back over there some day. Some people I kind of know here (friends of friends)just bought some property over there in a small town east of Genoa. It's a portion of a 400 old slaughter house. They're getting it fixed up before they start using it for a winter home. I also like reading posts from people "over there" Hope you'll stick around on this site. Jerry Mpls MN
