Elderly woman crushed by tractor 2002-07-20 By The Associated Press BILLINGS, Okla. - An 89-year-old man crawled for 23 hours to report a tractor accident that took the life of his 80-year-old wife, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Saturday. Florence Ruth Holba of Billings died Friday after the tractor driven by her husband, Edwin Holba, rolled over her, troopers said. Mrs. Holba was standing behind the tractor when Holba's foot slipped off the clutch, the patrol said. The tractor rolled backward over her, pinning her beneath it. Holba got off the tractor but fell when he went to check on his wife, the patrol said. Holba, who has limited mobility, was unable to stand and crawled for 23 hours until he reached his residence and called for help shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, troopers said. The Holbas' house is located along a county road in a rural area of Noble County. Daily Oklahoman Newspaper/Channel 9 KWTV Oklahoma City © 2002, Produced by NewsOK
