I believe from what I've seen in film sets etc,that the face of the bldg is more like pole building,with the sunken posts providing primary anchoring and stability and diagonal bracing in the back to short posts to support the face against windloading and racking/twisting....but what do I know,biggest thing I ever completely built from scratch was a yardbarn.
