This past saturday I took a little drive around Nebraska. About 300 miles round trip. Without looking too hard, spotted some nice tractors. First I ran across an F-20 painted within an inch of its life on display in a farmyard, actually jacked up on a bed of white granite. Then saw an early JD-A with farmhard loader, still being used. One farmyard had an IHC M and H, two JD-A's stylded, and one "B" JD. all unpainted sitting out visible to the road. Then ran across a JD 630, running a small irrigation pump with PTO. Then just a couple of miles later saw an IHC M running a real small irrigation pump with a V-belt. The M had never been painted, and was minus hood. On the return trip saw a very nice repainted JD-60 back in a shed on an empty place. Then saw an F-20 parked next to the fuel barrel on a farmyard, evidentally still in use, the rubber looked good, but it still carried about 5% of its original paint. Then a pair of M-M 1000's, both in use, one had a real strange plywood cab. Several Oliver 1855's. one with a big loader. both looked like they'd just been used yesterday. Then right along the highway saw a JD-60 running a small irrigation pump with a flat belt. About home saw a couple of Ford 8-N's, with a like size tractor on propane, maybe a David Brown? Didn't go looking for tractors, but thought the rest of you guys would like to know that they're still out there, and over half of these were still doing regular work. John in Nebraska
