Keep it full of 10 wt oil to the level of the check plug on the rear. Run the drive belt as loose as possible as the tiny rear shaft bushing will not stand much side load,and the governor takes almost 0 power to turn.
The company has a web site under the peirce name,(Pierce/Hoof same company).
I recently inquired about repair parts for a Hoof governor on a Melrow spra-coupe($430 for a complete unit). but got no answer from the company.
