If you want a fairly low price you'll do ok, or if the tractor has some very desireable parts on it ya might still do alright. Require a substantial deposit within 7 calendar days, and full payment and pickup of the tractor within 30 days. Be real helpful trying to work around the schedule of the buyer, and try to help with loading as much as possible, and you'll make a new friend. Stress in your auction that the tractor has to GO out of your yard in a certain time period. Let the buyer know you are willing to bring it to a storage yard for them, but the storage will be up to them. In other words, don't make it easy for a buyer to use you for long term storage, or worse yet, forget about the deal with no money lost. I've sold a few tractors for parts online and a dozer, and following the above has worked fine. The tractor I didn't follow the above on I still own. If you have a local auction house with a reasonable commision you probably would do better there. The local guys here who get the biggest crowd have a 25 percent commission which to me is robbery so I don't put anything in their sale which i have any money in. Good luck! Truck

In my younger days, mom, dad and my brother made frequent visits to dad's youngest brother Pete, who took over the home farm from grandpa MIke. It was the typical set-up, milk cows, pigs & chickens. In the winter, we'd play
