Go ahead and get 1 load of the fill dirt and play around for awhile and when you've had enough call the contractor you spoke with to come back with a dozer and do a good job that youll be satisfied with. 5 or 6 10 wheeler loads of fill to spread as well as maybe doing some cutting down high spots wil be alot of work/ time with a small tractor. My suggestion if you want to save money is hire the grading done with a bulldozer and then you can rent a tractor and york rake or a homemade drag like other folks here mentioned , do your fine grading and seeding yourself. Good luck however you choose to go.
