With all the wiring connected- remove one plug wire and check for spark. If no spark- remove distibutor cap and clean all contacts inside. Also check the points for proper gap- usually about .020 inch. Clean the points with an emery cloth or nail file. Temporary fix- filing removes protective coating and fix may not last long, but you can replace points. Usually replace condensor at same time. Check for cracks in distributor cap which lead spark away. Bad plug wires will keep spark from getting to plugs. Coil could also be bad if all else is good. Also look for broken wires in distributor when cap is off. Clean and readjust gap on plugs- usually about .030. If you have spark and fuel, the engine should at least fire, if not run.
