My thoughts are you have a couple choices.. 1. Either telling people you can not let your equipment our OR 2. You rent it out by the hour, and charge a damage deposit and they provide proof of insurance.. (similar to any rental business).. the second would do a couple things.. If people want to use your equipment they should be willing to pay for it and two provide you with a recourse for repairs.. I would say for example if my bush hog comes back with broken shear pins. that I keep the $100 security deposit... If the damage is greater then the security deposit then the person would be required to provide insurance replacement..
