You CAN safely jump a 6 volt tractor with 12 volts. But you have to do it correctly. Do NOT hook directly to the tractor battery. 1. Make sure the tractor is OUT of GEAR as you are bypassing the safety switch! 2. Hook neg. from 12 v battery to starter post on tractor. 3. Touch pos from 12 v battery to tractor frame. This will turn over the tractor starter quickly so remember the first item: Make sure tractor is OUT of gear! This process will not damage your tractor ignition or coil, as all that is bypassed.
