FB,
An engine should last between 7000 to 10,000 hours before overhaul with unlimited variables to figure into the equation.
I have seen some come into the shop with many more hours on them and still going strong and some that didn't last even 7000 hours.
A tractor that has not been worked very hard, stored inside, and well maintained will last much longer than a tractor that is abuse and/or neglected.
