On a 2 stroke engine, the oil is mixed with the gas, either as a pre-mix or with an oil injector. The gas, air, and oil mixture travels through the crankcase, then through transfer ports into the combustion chamber. That's a simplified description of how a 2 stroke gets oil to the crankshaft.
