When you say a 60% antifreeze system,do you mean you are runing 60% anti freeze as opposed to a 50%-50% mix? If so, I would dump it. Reason being is that glycol being an oil based liquid will not dissipate heat as well as water does. What is your coldest ambient temp you will encounter in your area? If it never gets to -50 below zero, why do you need an antifreeze mix for that temp??????????? The Isuzu engines that Hitachi uses in their excavators is very particular about the coolant mix in them. That is one of the first things that gets done when I have a machine with a heat problem. General rule of thumb for engine temp should be 100 degrees over ambient before it is considered overheating. That would also be with a pressure system though.
