After- market hydraulic pumps

I have a 1945 JD "B" and have purchased a #45 JD loader to go with it. I have a PTO-driven Twin-Draulic pump made in Laurens, Iowa to run the loader. I know very little about how this pump should be set up for the loader. I found the outlet for oil going out, but can anyone tell me how the oil returns? There are two smaller holes on the left side of the pump, with plugs in them. Are these returns? Or does the oil return through the same hole? HELP!
