my negibhor goes in right after cutting and sprays gramaxone (sp?) while the alfalfa is just stems and the weeds like thistle and dandilion still have leaves low to ground.you should have this done by a custom applicator as gramaxone is bad stuff that can easily kill you not like 2-4-D where you may only die from cancer 50years later.Like hal WA said talk to your extinsion agent and talk to yout local fertalize& chemical dealer
