Did the 886 ever have air on it? It it has the brackets, evaporator, and condensor you can add a compressor, hoses, and a 134a charge for under $500. A lot of people are making a mint on "upgrading" systems to 134a and selling compressors. Eg: York piston compressors whsle $108, suitable for R134a or R12, plus clutches. These were the actual compressors on a host of tractors. Price depends on local market. In the corn and wheat belt I agree with the others, that's a litle much. In the KY, VA, TN area 10,500's cheap. Since Jan I've seen a 986 and 2 886's at auction, all needed a/c work but had all components 10,500 (986); 12,100 and 14,000 on the 886's.
