Pulling Injectors ?

I would like to know how hard it is to pull the injectors on a Ford diesel. It smokes real bad and runs ruff at hi rpm,s. Im told to pull the injectors and have them checked before doing anything else. Iv never done this so I need a little advice.The tractor is a 801 Powermaster,
