Linhorst..........What you are experiencing is the 9N's hydraulic draft control working. The draft control was designed for plowing and not for height position control. It could also be a hydraulics/PTO issue because the hydraulic pump stops pumping every time you clutch and without hydraulic pressure, the weight of the hog will drop the hydraulic lift. If you had asked this question on the N-Board, you would have been bombarded with testimonials about the wonderfully effective $80 externally installed "Zane Thang" for hydraulic position control. Other than the Zane Thang, many N-Tractor brushog users use height limiting chains. The chains take the load off the hydraulics and set the cutting height. The chain collasps when you raise the hydraulic lift to go over obsticals and then when you lower your hog, it returns to your pre-determined cutting height. Also highly recommended that you use on Over Running Coupler (ORC) on your PTO. It prevents all that rotory inertial engergy from backfeeding into your tranny and continuing driving your tractor when you clutch to slowdown to go around the corner of the barn, fencepost, creekbank, irrigation canal, wifes car (don't ask). $60 cheap. Also prevents expensive tranny noises...........respectfully, Dell the self-appointed ORC safety preacher
