hydrolic oil level

I have recently bought a Yanmar with a front end loader.The loader was added recently. The tractor fluid level is higher than the full mark on the dipstick. Should I lower the level of the oil, or did adding the loader increase the amount of oil needed to operate the loader? Also, should the loader be on the ground to check the oil level?
