I never have had the trailer move when I was loading or unloading but, when I first got my trailer it had only 2 very narrow ramps and they only hooked with an angle iron over another piece of steel to the trailer. The back wheels of a Farmall A upon the trailer and the front wheels about half way up and it slipped off the ramps. Not a good feeling. The ramps wouldn't go back on the trailer with the front wheels so close, so had to jack up front of tractor so I could get the ramps back under the front wheels. I had just finished restoring it. That was enough. Here's how I took care of that and other hazzards while loading. It cost a little but I feel safer. I had a two piece ramp the full width of the trailer put on and welded heavy iron onto it for jack stands. Now when the ramps are down the stands are in place. When ramps are up they stick out behind just a bit. I had coil springs put on it to help lift the ramps. The only problem I see is it added weight to the back of the trailer. I compensate for this by backing my tractors on the trailer, far enough ahead of the axles to get the correct tongue weight. I 'm sorry this is so long but maybe someone will not get injured or damage truck or tractor by doing this.

Elliott said while this
