Thanks to John and Brian for the good tips. I think I have found the problem and it sure fooled me. I checked the air gap on the clutch with a feeler gauge and it was not much off. However, I tightened each of the adjustment nuts about 1/4 turn. Tried the clutch again and it came on. I would not have thought that such a small amount of adjustment could resolve the problem. Thanks again.
