I guess we all judge others experiences by how "we" would handle them. I'm surprised you are irked at all??? "If" you knew the rules you laid out here before you started, why did you agree to them??? First, you said it was an acquaintence, not a realitve, or best friend, so why not charge for the service??? Secondly, you are doing it for free, and you have to pay for 50% any damage to his property??? I scope the property out on foot, and tell the customer up front what the possible damages are, and that i'm not responsible if it happens. That gives them the chance to choose if they want, to take the risk at THEIR expence! Lastly, this is the reason i wouldn't take any tractor job unless i have HD equipment to do do it with. I've broken equipment before, and i've never expected any money from my customer for it. I feel that's my risk for takeing the job, just like the property damage is their responsibility!! Now you know why i always recomend Howard tillers, and HD Woods brush hogs on these sites! I've hit lieing down power poles and many cinder blocks with my Rotary cutter, and all it did was make my cutter jump around untill it ground them up, or got past them!! NO offence intended toward you Shep, Robert
