Max weight for tractor pulling finish mower?

I have a David Brown 990 and am thinking about getting a different tractor. I want to get a tractor that will do a good job pulling a finish mower without damaging the lawn, and at the same time be as powerful as possible for other types of chores - front end loader, heavier brush hogging, disking, etc. Does anyone know the maximum weight that a tractor can be using industrial (not turf, for better traction) tires and still do a good job finish mowing? I'm considering tractors in the 30-40 hp range. For example, a 37hp Kubota 3710 weighs 2,910 lbs. Too heavy for finish mowing?
