You didn't say if your 12v converted or 6v as that might help think of other problems.

Check for voltage at the Bat+ on coil if negative ground system when the key is turned on, if voltage then use a insulated pliars to hold coil lead to distributor about 1/4" from cap post, then crank engine and there should be a strong blue spark jump from the lead to the cap post. If not coil is bad or distributor has lost ground.

To check if distributor has lost ground, look at the rotor and cap points are good, then check the breaker points are opening and closing like they should.
