Last November my brother in-law was operating
a 1970 ford 4000 with a round bale on the rear.
He was hit by a small car at 55 mph. It broke the tractor in half. Threw my brother in-law about
50 feet, and broke his back. He's lucky that he can walk on crutches. The 16 yearold that hit had a broke jaw, and arm, said he did not see the tractor. good visibility at the crash sight.
The SMV sign was on the tractor, and was visible.
Here in VA as long as the SMV sign is on the tractor and/or equipment you can use them on
primary and secondary roads.
