JoeK: Thanks. I got some good advice from a fellow in Florida, who races a G-8 tractor (yes, races. His wife is high point champion in the Halffast Lawnmower races). He told me how to turn it over on its side, and get tranny oil into the bushing on the input pulley, and work it around. That has fixed my immediate problem, but I would still be interested in a source for parts and manuals. This machine has given me years of service, and it still looks like it still has plenty of life left in it.
