Matt,When I was in the panhandle of OK we put in a Quarter of alfalfa on row water . we planted with a JD 8300 4 row drill. Used the recomended
settings , but on the tops -- no tension, the sides-- med tension , the bottoms full tension .
Then watered it up. By the way the beds were on 40 in. centers.
So on flat ground in your country try a med to light spring tension setting for starters Good Luck with your Alfalfa.
