Cub Cadet mower self propelled need advive.

I have a Cub Cadet self propelled 21" mower and the self propelled setup is getting kind of tight I think the probelm is the drive chain in the housing on the left hand side. My question is this how does the rear right wheel come of of the axel? I removed the cap screw and ratchet assembly and the plastic spline seems to be stripped and will turn on the axel but the wheel refuses to slide of. Any suggestions? Thanks.
